10/5 (Online) 3pm - Virtual Screening & Panel Discussion "Severed" with panelists Mohamed Saleh, Dom Kelly, Jen Deerinwater & Sandra Tamimi (Adalah Justice Project and partners)

In honor of National Disability Awareness Month, Adalah Justice Project, in partnership with our friends at Donkeysaddle Projects and New Disabled South, invites you to a virtual screening of Severed on Sunday, October 5 at 3:00 pm ET.

Severed (2025) tells the story of Mohamad Saleh, a teenager from Gaza who has endured five major Israeli assaults. In those attacks, he lost his home, close family members, his best friends, and—at the age of 12—his leg. Mohamad’s story reflects the broader reality of thousands of Palestinians whose disabilities are the direct result of Israel’s systematic violence against the Palestinian people. The genocide in Gaza is a mass-disabling event and we must do everything we can to not only stop the genocide, but to also build a world that allows the survivors to heal and thrive.

I (Sandra Tamimi) will join a panel discussion after the virtual screening of Severed on October 5 at 3 pm, featuring:

  • Mohamad Saleh, Protagonist/Co-producer of Severed and Donkeysaddle Projects intern

  • Dom Kelly, Executive Director of New Disabled South

  • Jen Deerinwater, Executive Director of Crushing Colonialism

The Sunday launch will be followed by dozens of grassroots and community screenings hosted by individuals and organizations around the world. We encourage you to organize a screening of Severed during the month of October—joining hundreds of others in centering Palestinian voices, mobilizing communities to take action, and building solidarity through the lens of disability justice.

Adalah Justice Project is proud to be a part of this initiative to amplify Mohamad's story. We hope you will join us this Sunday, and help carry Severed into your own communities in October.

Register here for the October 5 screening

In solidarity,

Sandra Tamari
Executive Director
Adalah Justice Project
