Since December 2024, when the Assad regime was ousted from power, Syria has been in the midst of monumental change. Both domestic and international forces are destabilizing the country, threatening the fragile transitional process. What is driving Syrians apart and how can they—and their government—help to build a unified and peaceful country?

Speaker - Hind Kabawat, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Syrian Arab Republic.

Moderator - Melani Cammett, Director, Weatherhead Center for International Affairs; Chair, Weatherhead Research Cluster on Identity Politics. Clarence Dillon Professor of International Affairs, Department of Government, Harvard University.

Speaker Biography - Mrs. Hind Kabawat holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Damascus, a certificate in conflict resolution and arbitration from the University of Toronto in Canada, and a master's degree in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in the United States.
