The Gaza Peace Plan: What Will It Take to Bring Peace after Two Years of War?

by Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

On October 8, Hamas and Israel agreed to the first phase of a 20-point plan aimed at bringing an end to the war in Gaza, after two long years of devastation. While the final living Israeli hostages are released and the Israeli military begins its phased withdrawal from Gaza, key discussions are taking place concerning the United States’ post-war vision for the region.

On Tuesday, October 21 at 2 pm, I’ll be joined by fellow Carnegie scholars Zaha Hassan, Marwan Muasher, and Frederic Wehrey to discuss and evaluate the plan, with key insights into how the plan has been received by Jordan and Egypt. Moderated by Abigail Hauslohner of the Financial Times, our panel examines the feasibility of the plan and looks at its potential effects on the Palestinian goal of statehood and national sovereignty.

Join us Tuesday at Carnegie’s office in Washington, DC, or live online, for an exclusive conversation. We look forward to seeing you there.
