Palestinian Politics, Publics and Paths forward Post October 7

by Middle East Institute

Please join us tomorrowWednesdayOctober 1, at 10:00 AM EDT for a discussion with Tahani Mustafa and Wasim al Masri about Palestinian politics, publics and the road ahead, the first in a series of MEI conversations focused on the manifold implications of, and paths forward from, October 7.

Two years on from Hamas's attack on Israel and Israel's ongoing reprisal attack on Gaza, the situation for Palestinians hasn't looked bleaker since 1948. With weak and divided political leadership; an unclear practical path forward to realizing statehood; a re-traumatized public for whom the prospect of a peaceful diplomatic horizon is a distant or non-existent memory; and Israel’s entrenching occupation in the West Bank, the future of the Palestinian national movement is at an inflection point. Join us for this discussion about the present challenges, and assessment of paths forward in the shadow of October 7.
