1/9 (Zoom) 12pm - Virtual Screening & Discussion of "Hamdardi," a moving short film re: the 2017 Trump Muslim Ban (Nat'l Iranian American Council)

You’re invited to an exclusive virtual screening of Hamdardi, a moving short film that captures the profound human impact of the 2017 Trump Muslim Ban. Director Ashley Tabatabai and cast members will be our special guests for a discussion of the film on Thursday, January 9 at 12pm ET/9am PT on Zoom.

Hamdardi follows an immigration officer who is confronted with the emotional weight of his job when he meets two Iranian siblings desperate to see their dying father. This Oscar-longlisted film poignantly illustrates the personal struggles and heartbreak that arise from policies that affect real lives. NIAC is hosting this screening at a time when the Muslim Ban may return in 2025.

>> Join us via Zoom on January 9th at 12 PM ET to share this important story.

After the screening, we will host a brief Q&A session with the filmmakers to delve deeper into the film’s themes and discuss how it fits in the world today in 2025
