1/31 (in person, Brooklyn NY) 4pm (picket) 5pm (vigil) - Picket and Vigil at the Brooklyn Board of Education in Honor of Hind Rajab and the Children of Gaza

Picket and Vigil at the Brooklyn Board of Education in Honor of Hind Rajab and the Children of Gaza

📣 Join us Friday, January 31, as we demand transparency and accountability from the New York City Board of Elections and honor the memory of Hind Rajab.

In the fall, @ny10neighbors joined a grassroots campaign started by @ny09neighbors encouraging voters to protest Israel’s U.S.-backed genoc/de in Gaza by writing Hind Rajab’s name instead of AIPAC-endorsed politicians like @repdangoldman and @repyvetteclarke

The campaign honoring six-year-old Hind struck a chord with many voters and spread organically to other NYC Congressional districts. We believe more than 4,800 New Yorkers wrote in Hind Rajab for Congress. Yet, less than half of the estimated write-ins for Hind were properly counted and reported by the Board of Elections. Thousands of write-ins were marked “unattributable” in the official election results released in December 2024.

🗓️ Mark your calendars for Friday, January 31

🪧4 PM Picket: We will gather outside the Brooklyn Board of Elections at 345 Adams Street (downtown Brooklyn) to demand transparency and answers as to why so many votes for Hind were left unattributed.

🕯️5 PM Vigil: We will move across the street to Borough Hall for a vigil honoring Hind Rajab and all of those killed in this U.S.-backed genoc/de. Together, we will collectively mourn and remember.
