by International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs - a global human rights organisation dedicated to promoting & defending Indigenous Peoples’ rights.

Indigenous representatives from the seven socio-cultural regions convened the Indigenous Summit on Just Transition in Geneva in October 2024 to discuss our perspectives, knowledge, and lived experiences related to Just Transition. 🌍

Indigenous leaders reached a unanimous agreement on defining a Just Transition that was captured in a document, outlining 11 guiding principles that state and corporate actors must follow to respect Indigenous Rights and foster true sustainability. 🌱

Join the upcoming webinar where the following will be discussed:

β–ͺ Present the outcome document from the Indigenous Summit on Just Transition. This includes our collective vision, guiding principles, protocols, and actionable steps for a genuine just transition.

β–ͺ Share strategies and mechanisms to uphold the self-determined priorities and rights of Indigenous Peoples in the global transition to low emissions economies.

β–ͺ Highlight case studies and best practices that exemplify progress toward achieving a just transition.

β–ͺ Stand in solidarity as we face these challenges together.
