Gathering Voices with Israeli peace activist Yonatan Zeigen - hosted by Ariel Gold
Join us for an important conversation with Yonathan Zeigen, son of renowned Israeli peace activist Vivian Silver, who was killed in a Hamas attack on Kibbutz Be'eri on October 7th, 2023. Hosted by Fellowship of Reconciliation Executive Director Ariel Gold, sponsored by Fellowship of Reconciliation and Combatants for Peace
Vivian Silver was a tireless advocate for peace and co-founded several organizations dedicated to this cause, including Women Wage Peace and The Parents Circle-Families Forum. Women Wage Peace is a grassroots movement that unites women from diverse backgrounds in Israel to promote a non-violent, negotiated solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The organization emphasizes inclusivity and collaboration, bringing together Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Druze, and Bedouin women to work toward peace. Silver also played a pivotal role in providing medical aid to Gazans, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to humanitarian efforts and cross-border solidarity.
Yonatan is a social worker and trained mediator. Since the death of his mother, along with being a father of three, he has dedicated himself to carrying on her work. Join us for this essential conversation in advance of one year since the October 7 massacre of 1,200 Israelis and the war that has senselessly taken countless Palestinian lives in Gaza.
