8/30 (in person, Providence RI) 6pm - Letter Writing to Black and Palestinian Political Prisoners with Jihad Abdulmumit and Leena Al-Arian (PSL Rhode Island & Palestinian Feminist Collective)

Join us on Friday 8/30 at 6 pm (DARE, 340 Lockwood St., Providence RI) to support the freedom struggles of Black and Palestinian political Prisoners in the US. We will be learning about and writing letters to political prisoners. Letter-writing materials will be provided. 

We will be joined by Jihad Abdulmumit and Leena Al-Arian.

Jihad Abdulmumit is a community activist, motivational speaker, author and playwright and currently the chairperson of the National Jericho Movement. He was a domestic political prisoner and prisoner of war, and served 23 years of his life in prison for his involvement in the Black Liberation Movement. 

Leena Al-Arian is a Palestinian-American organizer and human rights advocate based in Massachusetts. She is the former executive director the Coalition for Civil Freedoms (CCF), a survivor-led nonprofit organization that challenges the abuses of the domestic “war on terror,” including the post-9/11 criminalization of Muslim communities, surveillance, preemptive prosecution, and the targeting of individuals based on manufactured or thought crimes.
