Wednesday, August 28, 8:30 AM EDT - in person at 121 Elm St., New Haven CT
Rally for the Yale 52
All 88* Connecticut activists arrested for protesting against the Israeli genocide of Palestinians have been pushed into accepting accelerated rehabilitation (AR) deals — the state’s attempt to stifle the movement for Palestine.
This is a case of the “Palestine exception” — the disproportionate and unprecedented treatment of pro-Palestinian protestors. If people with AR are arrested again, they may face harsher penalties, which discourages people from participating in protests and dissenting in the future.
We cannot allow ourselves to be intimated by the state. We cannot allow the state to criminalize and repress pro-Palestinian activists for standing up against genocide funded by our tax dollars with weapons made in our state.
