IfNotNow Boston Tisha B’Av Potluck and Learning
Join IfNotNow Boston on the eve of the Jewish fast day of Tisha B’Av for a potluck (before the fast begins) and communal text study. Tisha B’Av commemorates the destruction of the ancient Temple in Jerusalem and has become a mourning day both for antisemitism throughout history, as well as injustice and violence against all people.
This day calls us to grieve communally for the tens of thousands of Palestinians killed by Israel in the last ten months, and with that grief to call for justice in Palestine and freedom for all people. We will start with a vegetarian potluck at 6 and start the learning at 6:30. We will end in time for those who would like to walk to Tremont Street Shul for the reading of Eicha (Lamentations).
