Join PSL Baltimore in Frederick, Maryland for a film screening and discussion about the Palestinian liberation struggle. We will be watching āGaza Fights for Freedomā (2019), a film about the Great March of Return in 2018. āReturnā is referencing Palestiniansā desire to return to their homes in historic Palestine. This is a community event, there is no cost for tickets, and food and drink will be provided!
Through exclusive on the ground footage, we witness Gazaās determined fight for liberation. The film focuses on the peaceful demonstrations in May of 2018. The March of Great Return was met with violence by the IDF, in which Israeli snipers deliberately killed 200 unarmed Palestinians and injured hundreds of others.
The United States funds and carries out bloody imperialist wars across the globe. In these wars, workers, mothers, fathers, and children suffer disproportionately to whomever the ruling class government claims to be fighting against. Whether our government is fighting āterrorismā, āthe threat of communismā, or to āspread democracyā, it is a fact that historically, the working class is sent to kill and be killed by the working class of other countries. Money and human lives are thrown away on behalf of billionaires, multinational corporations, and our own ruling class. And now, the United States government gives unwavering support to Israelās colonial project by using our tax dollars to assist Israel (militarily and monetarily) in carrying out a genocide against Palestinians. We demand that all aid to Israel cease, and for a liberated Palestine free from occupationāwe demand an end to genocide!
