Stop Pro-Israel Media Bias: Campaign Discussion

Join Sunjeev Bery of Freedom Forward and share your feedback on a new campaign proposal to stop pro-Israel media bias at The New York Times.

"The U.S. media has played a terrible role in hiding the reality of Israel's genocide in Gaza from American eyes. As a result, many people in the U.S. are not as outraged as they should be -- or would be -- if they saw and read the ugly reality of what Israel is doing to Palestinians.

To end this pro-Israel bias, my draft plan is to challenge The New York Times by combining criticism of its coverage with pressure on the newspaper as a business. By pushing New York Times advertisers and other corporate affiliations, we can encourage The New York Times to end its pro-Israel bias.

Of course, The New York Times is not alone in this pro-Israel bias.  CNN, The Wall Street Journal, and other Western media outlets have all been complicit at different times in Israel's propaganda campaigns. But we have to start somewhere, and The New York Times remains the "newspaper of record" for many U.S. and international readers -- including journalists at other Western media outlets.
