From DC to Gaza, All Politics is Local

After months of pressure from DC constituents around demanding a ceasefire resolution from DC Council, the Ward 1 DC Democratic Party has heeded the call and taken initiative to host a public roundtable conversation with the councilmembers, who are representatives of their party, to determine a path forward on how we respond as DC to the catastrophe happening in Gaza.

The DC for Ceasefire Now Coalition welcomes this initiative and urges the DC community to email, call their local representatives (councilmembers, ANCs, school board reps, etc) and urge them to participate in this conversation and engage with their constituents in a public forum organized on this specific topic.

If DC can speak out against South African apartheid, against the US blockade on Cuba, against the war in Ukraine, then they can speak out against the genocidal aggression taking place against the Palestinian people in Gaza with US tax-payer dollars.
