Tuesday, May 7, 9:00 AM - in person, Ogunquit Beach, 124 Beach St., Ogunquit ME
Peace Walk 2024, a National Veterans for Peace project, will begin in Ogunquit, ME on May 7.
The walk, conceptualized by Tarak Kauff, former National board member and editor of Peace and Planet News, Ellen Davidson, current National board member, and enthusiastically approved by the National board as a National Project will begin with a 9a.m. convocation ceremony at the Ogunquit Beach parking lot. Following remarks by Tarak, Doug Rawlings, VFP founder and long-time Maine VFP Chapter president, and other notables, walkers will set off for Portsmouth, NH, 15 miles down Route 1 and ultimately, after spreading the word from here to there, end at the White House in Washington, DC on July 7th.
See the National PeaceWalk 2024 website for further details.
This is our opportunity to join hundreds of thousands across the country who are calling for peace and justice in Palestine and an end to the genocide in Gaza. We understand that participating represents a logistical challenge. Even still—we urge you to join us.
