What does a *TRUE* democracy look like? Join us on Tues. May 28 for a Liberation Forum where we’ll explore this question!
With the 2024 presidential elections on the horizon, over 2/3 of voters under the age of 30 demand the replacement of both Biden and Trump as presidential candidates. This shows beyond a doubt that young people are seeking solutions to our broken political system.
So what does a true democracy look like? And how will we achieve it? Millions of people around the world, such as in Venezuela, are also grappling with this question — synthesizing rich lessons for us to draw from in the US.
In the first half, we will discuss what a democracy for the people and by the people is (spoiler: it’s not what we’re taught in school!)
In the second half, we will hear a reportback from a recent delegation to Venezuela and how the Venezuelan people are constructing democracy through their communal councils.
