First Aid for Workers and Organizers, 2-part series, May 25th & 26th 2024
Presented by the Community Resilience Working Group of Upper Valley Democratic Socialists of America
Session 1: Saturday, May 25th, 12-5pm - White River Junction, VT (address shared upon RSVP)
Session 2: Sunday, May 26th, 12-5pm
First aid skills are important for everyone to know and keep fresh in their minds. As working class organizers, we may be more likely to find ourselves in the position to help someone who needs urgent medical attention, whether at work, at home, or in the course of our organizing. The first session of this two-day workshop will cover basic first aid practices that are applicable for everyday injuries and illnesses. The second session will expand on this and discuss applying first aid in specific contexts where emergency services are not immediately available, including protests and direct actions, or backcountry/wilderness settings. Both sessions will be led by Danny, one of our members who is an EMT and a street medic.
Snacks will be provided, please also feel free to bring anything you would like for yourself or to share!
