"Tapestry: Collective Liberation and Solidarity" is a group exhibition featuring the works of women and gender-expansive artists. Through various artistic mediums and across cultures, these artists center textiles, embroidery, and clothing to convey resistance movements, untold histories, and explorations of gender.
From protest posters to graffiti on the apartheid wall in the West Bank, from traditional keffiyeh patterns to contemporary expressions of defiance, art and culture are always a part of the struggle for liberation.
Join us in honoring these voices of resistance—particularly in solidarity with the ongoing human rights violations affecting the people of Palestine, Sudan, Congo, Kashmir, and all impacted nations fighting for a right to land and sovereignty.
Meet the artists and curator.
Participate in collective/interactive block printing activity.
Sounds curated by DJ Laurita and DJ Gitau.
Chai from Sahar’s Chai and biscuits from Abbu the Baker will be provided on a first come first serve basis.
