FRIDAY, MAY 17th at 148 2nd St in Turners Falls (Great Falls). Gathering at 6 pm & film at 8 pm. Organized by local activists & JVP members: Join Ismail and community at Mohawk Falafel & Shawarma to honor and grieve al Nakba (the day of catastrophe), a forced displacement of over 800,000 Palestinians that is commemorated each year on the anniversary of May 15, 1948, but started much earlier and continues today.
Together, we will learn about this history. Gathering starts at 6:00PM. Light food will be offered, other snacks and beverages are very welcome! Please bring a mask and plan to wear it while getting food / close together. At 8:00PM, a documentary about al Nakba will be shown. 🍉
Nearest bus line is 23, stop at L St and 4th. Parking available at the Unity Park parking lot (enter Unity Park, Turners Fallls in GPS). There is a flat path from the parking lot to the food truck. Restrooms are located at Montague Parks & Rec by the parking lot. Please bring a chair, blankets, and anything else you need to be comfortable outdoors.
