JUSTICE FOR PALESTINE: Hypocrisy, Complicity and What to do about it
Exploring the ways in which civil society can press governments & international organizations to fulfill their obligations.
By MOVE: The Global Social Movement Centre
The global movement for peace in Gaza continues to inspire as one of the most powerfully profound messages in the 21st Century for a new world order, decolonised and rooted in love, hope and justice. However, the international community of duty bearers is clearly paralyzed and has never been more out-of-sync with popular sentiment across the world. While we have seen inspiring actions of governments, primarily in the Global South, most duty bearers in the Global North remain complicit in the violation of international laws and double standards in terms of protecting the Palestinian population.
In this webinar, we will explore the ways in which we, as global civil society, can press governments and international organizations to fulfill their obligations for peace and justice in Palestine.
Joining us for the discussion: Prof. Dr. Mohd. Nazari Ismail, Chairman of BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) Malaysia, Professor at the Faculty of Business and Accounting, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur / Tim Whyte, Country Director ActionAid Denmark / Saer El Jaichi, Senior Researcher, Global security and worldviews, Danish Institute of International Studies
