GAZA VIGIL, this SATURDAY at U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in DC
We'll bring several signs or placards that say things like "Never Again Includes Palestine," and "Why Must Palestinians Pay for the Holocaust?" We'll also have plenty of flyers to hand out explaining "What We Stand For." Please feel free to bring appropriate placards that respectfully but pointedly reference lessons of the Holocaust.
Our vigil in that location is deeply justified by the big sign on the front wall that urges visitors to "Think about what you saw the next time you witness hatred, injustice, or genocide." The vigil quietly expresses what we think and simply asks visitors to also think and to speak out. The space is very safe. Museum guards have often stated that they are present to protect all visitors, but especially demonstrators, who might encounter hostility. Having held vigils many times since 2008, I can say it is a very safe and effective place to make meaningful contact with hundreds of visitors.
