NOTE: Due to the murder by Israel of WCK aid workers in Gaza this week, this event has been canceled. Also, the NENJP Calendar team does not support WCK founder Jose Andre’s longstanding support of Israel and his comments that “Israel has a right to defend itself,” even during this genocide. This event was added to the Calendar in the first place only because aid is so desperately needed in Gaza and any avenue for aid is worth following.
Humanity First: Six Months in Gaza
For almost six months, World Central Kitchen (WCK) has been at the forefront of humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza. Working shoulder to shoulder with local partners and community leaders, we are doing all we can to provide nourishing meals to Palestinians who have been forced to flee their homes.
WCK teams on the ground across the region have worked tirelessly to establish a network of community kitchens. We have built central Relief Kitchens and a Welcome Center to provide respite to displaced families. With our partners in Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Cyprus, we have delivered aid by land, air, and sea, opening access points that have been closed for decades.
We invite you to a conversation with members of our Relief Team to dive into key elements of our response. We will highlight our Palestinian teammates running our kitchens in Gaza, our culinary approach to providing meals, and our maritime operation.
