4/11 -13 (many events both in person & online) AFSC 2024 Corporation Program

Thursday, April 11, 6:30 PM thru Saturday, April 13, 6:30 PM

The American Friends Service Committee’s (AFSC) 2024 annual AFSC Corporation Program (April 11-13) will explore the challenges we face in this election year and how we can work together to address them. The theme is “Weaving the Threads of Democracy and Peace in an Age of Conflict.” It speaks to our shared responsibility to uphold and protect democratic principles in the U.S. and emphasizes our commitment to respond to violent conflicts abroad, such as those in Ukraine and Gaza. We hope you can join us, either in person in Philadelphia or online. Register for events. (NOTE: There are many different events to choose from - both in person and available online. Please use the Register for events link above to review all that is offered)

We are excited to host Jose Antonio Vargas as our keynote speaker. Jose is a leading voice for immigrant rights as well as a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Emmy-nominated filmmaker, and Tony-nominated theatrical producer. Friends are also invited to workshops to hear from AFSC staff to learn more about our worldwide work to build peace with justice. We also hope you will join our film screening of “The Movement and the ‘Madman.” After the film, Sofia Di Pietro, Quaker Engagement Coordinator, will be moderating a panel discussion with Vietnam-era war resisters.
