Gaza Vigil at U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in DC, 14th and C Street, SW Entrance, Friday, March 22, 11:30-1:30
In honor of Kayla Robbins of "Solidarity Fast for Palestine" in front of the White House there will be a respectful but pointed vigil outside the entrance to the Holocaust Museum. Solidarity Fast for Palestine Toolkit.pdf(Review) - Adobe cloud storage
We'll have plenty of flyers to hand out explaining "What We Stand For," and a few placards that say things like "Never Again Includes Palestine," and "Why Must Palestinians Pay for the Holocaust?" Also a couple of placards have large photos of grieving Gazan mothers and their wounded or dead children (victims of genocide). Feel free to bring or create appropriate placards.
Our warrant for being outside the museum in particular is the big sign on the front wall that urges visitors to "Think about what you saw the next time you see hatred, injustice, of genocide." We are thinking and we are speaking out through our vigil and in quiet conversations with whomever wishes to converse. The space is very safe, with many guards who have often told me that they are present to protect all visitors, but especially demonstrators, who might encounter hostility.
