Censorship & Consciousness: Jehad Abusalim Keynote Event
KEYNOTE EVENT UPDATE: Motaz Azaiza has had to cancel his trip to the U.S. and will be unable to attend the conference. Jehad Abusalim will be the Keynote Speaker.
Jehad, who was slated to facilitate the conversation with Motaz, is an incredible Palestinian thinker and writer currently based in DC but born and raised in Gaza. Jehad graduated from Al-Azhar University in Gaza, Palestine, and studies Arab intellectual writings on Zionism as well as the social and political history of the Gaza Strip, focusing on the impact of the Nakba on life in Palestine’s Gaza district and 1950s political life in the Gaza Strip. He is the Education and Policy Coordinator at the Palestine Activism Program of American Friends Service Committee in Chicago. You can read/hear more of his work here, here, and here.
