On Oct 7th Palestinians broke out of the concentration camps and bulldozed through the apartheid wall surrounding Gaza, launching the greatest struggle for Palestinian liberation in years and a worldwide solidarity movement. Throughout the last century, many other colonized peoples have also fought revolutionary struggles of national liberation, in Algeria, Vietnam, Korea, Angola, Cuba, China, and beyond.
How did past resistance against colonialism and occupation take shape? What does it mean to say “resistance is justified when people are occupied?” To connect the struggles of today with those of history, join us to watch and discuss the Battle of Algiers, hailed as one of the best anti-colonial films ever made.
