UPDATE: MARCH IS POSTPONED
Thank you to everyone involved in the 25 Mile March for Palestine! Because of low temperatures all weekend that are not safe for prolonged exposure, as well as safety capacity, the 25 Mile March itself will happen this spring.
Instead of marching this weekend, you are invited to two rallies 25 miles apart at the planned start and end points of the march. Listen to speakers from previously planned stops along the route, fundraise, connect with local orgs and eat food in community.
Please dress warmly and bring your people (virtually and in person) and please keep sharing the fundraiser for @gazasoupkitchen and @yousef_sager99 which will continue over the winter.
Northampton, MA - Saturday, December 7, 12-2pm at Northampton City Hall, 210 Main St. (previously planned march starting point) Livestream: (@25milesforpalestine) • Instagram photos and videos
2:30-4pm: Live Writing Workshop with Carolyn Cushing (pre-registration required - deadline to register 11:30am 12/7)
Title: Letters from the Dead (and Living, too): Raising the Voices of Palestinian Poets in our Advocacy - Hosted by Carolyn Cushing, Easthampton Poet Laureate 2023-2025.
More details: Carolyn will talk about her experiences weaving the words of Palestinian poets into public speeches, letters to the editor, and legislative lobbying. There will be time to write together prompted by lines from poets.
Register Here by Saturday at 11:30am! Meeting Registration - Zoom
(Sunday’s events will also be listed separately on the Calendar)
Springfield, MA - Sunday, December 8, 12-2pm at Rep. Neal’s Office, 300 State St., Springfield (ending point) Livestream (@25milesforpalestine) • Instagram photos and videos
Sunday Zoom - 6-7:15 pm: Live Interactive Talkback w/ Playwright Ju-pong Lin Launch Meeting - Zoom
We hope you will consider joining us virtually this weekend in lieu of, or in addition to joining us in-person for one or both rallies! Our virtual program includes livestreams of both rallies, and Interactive workshops, including Writing with Easthampton Poet Laureate Carolyn Cushing, and a Talk-back with local playwright Ju-Pong Lin! These workshops are by donation directly to our fundraising recipients via 25milemarchma.org.
Please DM us your email by Saturday at 11am if you didn’t previously register for the march, and we will make sure you get updated access information, in addition to a selection of resources for further learning and engagement in movement-building from a disability justice lens!
