Apartheid-Free Convening - Post Election Politics and Palestine

This past month, the Apartheid-Free Network has grown to include over 425 communities, all united under the pledge to “end all support to Israel’s apartheid regime.” As we move forward, many of us are preparing to travel—by car, bus, train, or plane—to Philadelphia for our first in-person convening, happening this weekend on December 7. This gathering is an opportunity to renew our shared commitment to justice and strengthen our resolve as we prepare to face the challenges this new presidential administration will bring to our organizing, divesting, and educational efforts around the question of Palestine.

Be sure to register for the convening if you haven’t already—we look forward to coming together to build a stronger movement to end Israeli apartheid.

Recordings worth watching: From Grassroots to Congress: Progressives Exposing Israeli Apartheid (AMP)  In October, American Muslims for Palestine hosted a fantastic lineup of guests to discuss apartheid. They noted: “It’s not surprising that Israeli apologists in the media, and in congress, resort to smear campaigns and unwarranted attacks against progressives who defend Palestinian rights and condemn Israeli apartheid. However, it’s clear that Israel is losing the battle in the court of public opinion, and it’s our job on the ground to push our elected officials to do what’s right and stand for justice and democratic values.” Watch the recording here

Palestine is Calling: An Urgent Appeal for Faith-Inspired Solidarity (Presented by United Methodists for Kairos Response (UMKR) and Methodist Federation for Social Action (MFSA)  Hear from a panel of justice advocates who have been recent eyewitnesses to the worsening conditions on the ground across historic Palestine. They bring us their first-hand experiences of providing a protective presence at key locations of Israeli aggression and creating a bold public witness of faith-based solidarity, a witness intended to be shared in our churches and our communities.
