Martin Karcher’s Pottery Sale & Fundraiser
Join JVP DC Metro on December 7 and 8 to view and shop unique, functional pieces of pottery made by long-time JVP-DC Metro chapter member Martin Karcher, while supporting the work of US and Palestinian-based organizations dedicated to the movement for justice and liberation for Palestinians. The exhibition and sale will be open from 12–5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Martin’s selection includes a wide assortment of functional pottery, including bowls, vases, mugs, platters, casseroles, pitchers, teapots and more to buy as one-of-a-kind holiday gifts. All of Martin’s pieces are food-safe, and can be put in the microwave and dishwasher. To view Martin’s gallery of work please click here.
100% of the proceeds of Martin’s fundraiser will be split equally between the following five selected organizations, whose work has become increasingly more challenging and essential since the year-long genocide began:
1.) The DC Metro Chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, the largest progressive Jewish anti-Zionist organization in the world, organizing a grassroots, multiracial, cross-class, intergenerational movement of U.S. Jews into solidarity with the Palestinian freedom struggle.
2.) Gaza Mental Health Foundation, which provides psychological first aid in various displacement shelters and areas across Gaza.
3.) Growing Palestine, which empowers Palestinian farmers to sustain and carry forward their rich agricultural heritage.
4.) Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA), which is providing emergency assistance to families who have fled their homes in Gaza to seek shelter with relatives as well as procuring emergency medical supplies for hospitals and clinics.
5.) American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA), which is dedicated to meeting urgent needs in Gaza by providing meals, medical aid, tents, hygiene kits, blankets and mattresses to displaced families.
Please make sure your Covid vaccination is up to date, and wear a mask.
