Join JVP Maine for a nightly chanukah candle-lighting in Portland to grow our collective sense of power to stop the genocide in Gaza. After more than a year of genocide, apathy easily takes hold for a lot of people. Each night of chanukah we will add a candle and affirm that our resolve to fight for an end to genocide and occupation grows like our lights in the dark. Chanukah is a holiday that celebrates a fight against assimilation. Our struggle against the pull of Zionism to white supremacy and imperialism belongs in our ancient and constant struggle against assimilation, and we are here to hold each other in it.
