The Palestine Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, PalUROP
PalUROP is a broad program designed to foster and support collaborative research experiences by students in Palestinian universities, initiated in summer 2021. These projects, designed to provide hands-on educational experiences beyond the classroom, can be in any field represented in the university. Faculty, either in Palestine or abroad, propose appropriate research projects and select students to participate in the research. In many cases this involves a team of students, some from Palestine and some from abroad. Palestinian students submit timesheets and are compensated accordingly.

The PalUROP program is supported by grants from MIT J-WEL, the McMillan-Stewart Foundation, and generous contributions from MIT alumni, as well as by administrative support from Birzeit University and Scientists for Palestine.
