PYM Monthly Film Screening and Discussion: Naila and the Uprising

Join PYM DMV on Thursday, December 19th for our monthly film screening and discussion series! This month we will be watching and reflecting upon Naila and the Uprising.

To commemorate the start of the First Intifada on December 8, 1987, this film explores the efforts of Naila Ayesh, an organizer in Gaza and a fierce collective of women whose stories weave through the struggle of the First Intifada.

The film showcases the power of mass mobilization, popular resistance, and the role of women in the movement. Naila and the Uprising sheds light on how the struggle during the First Intifada necessarily involved every segment of Palestinian society.

We look forward to watching the film together and engaging an exchange of ideas and reflections.
