A conversation with Palestinian activist Ali Awad

Ali grew up in Tuba, Masafer Yatta, which he says is one of the most amazing places to grow up in. It’s community oriented and has beautiful family traditions. Growing up there also meant constantly facing military and settler violence and a threat of demolitions and evictions. Yet, he told me that no year compares to this past year. But also, nothing will separate him from his home. Ali was recently featured in Ta-Nehisi Coates new book which includes a section about the West Bank.
