Conversations in Medicine: A Doctor’s Journey in Gaza

Join the Muslim Students Association at Weill (MSAW) and Muslims in Medicine (MiM) for their hybrid panel discussion featuring American physicians who worked in Gaza during the on-going genocide. In person attendance is limited to Tri-Institutional Community Members. However, we welcome all community members to attend through our Zoom link.

Panelist Biographies:
Dr. Adam Hamawy, MD. FACS. (Attending in person) is a world-leading reconstructive and plastic surgeon specialist and an alumnus of Weill Cornell- New York Presbyterian's residency program. He has served in numerous humanitarian crises around the world including Iraq, and most recently in the European Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza, where he volunteered with the World Health Organization (WHO) through the Palestinian American Medical Association (PAMA).

Dr. Mohamed Elfar. MD, MS, FACS (attending virtually) is renown reconstructive, plastic, and burn surgeon specialist and Co-founder, Head of Trauma, and Chief Plastic Surgeon at Nile Medical Consultants, and appointed as an assistant professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University and as an adjunct clinical professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also volunteered in the European Hospital earlier in Feburary through PAMA.
