A visibly Brown, Muslim organizer has been singled out among eight students charged in connection with the 9/21 Divestment Rally. Despite requests for mediation, the University is pursuing disciplinary action without individualized evidence of misconduct, relying on general identifications made by Public Safety.

While seven students, including a white student organizer of the rally, reached resolutions without severe consequences, this organizer was denied the same and is being pushed towards a formal hearing before the Community Standards Board. She faces exaggerated charges based on unsubstantiated claims, including accusations that the Dean of Students has stated he does not believe is true. This case raises serious concerns about selective enforcement and discrimination, as she appears to be unjustly targeted due to her role as an organizer and marginalized identities.
