Gaza Health Crisis - Nov 21

  1. Time: November 21, 6:30pm

  2. Where: MIT Building 32-123

  3. Sponsors: Palestine @ MIT, MIT Grads for Palestine, MIT Coalition for Palestine

  4. Fundraising for Gaza relief.

Dr. Thaer Ahmad is an emergency physician from Chicago and board member of MedGlobal who spent three weeks at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis before it was rendered inoperable by Israeli airstrikes. In April 2024, he walked out of a meeting with President Joe Biden before it was over out of respect for his Palestinian community and in protest of the US Government's support for Israeli policies of starvation and mass murder.

Dr. Adam Hamawy is a reconstructive surgeon from New Jersey who spent three weeks at European Hospital near Khan Younis, Gaza in May 2024, providing critical care to patients with torn limbs, charred bodies and shrapnel-filled skin with the Palestinian American Medical Association. Hamawy has previously served as a volunteer caring for Syrian and Bosnian war victims.

They are here to tell us what they saw.

We will be fundraising for Gaza relief during event.
