November Gathering Voices - Liliane Kshensky Baxter

Gathering Voices is a live, monthly Zoom conversation series in which FOR-USA engages with activists and faith and thought leaders.

Please join us for this month's Gathering Voices on Tuesday, November 19th at 4 pm (EST), when Ariel Gold will engage Liliane Kshensky Baxter of the FOR Atlanta Chapter on her vibrant history with FOR, the International Fellowship of Reconciliation, and her work with the King Center - Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta. Lili will give a primer on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s 6 Principles and 6 Steps!

A writer and teacher, Lili was born in a Displaced Persons camp in Sweden and grew up in Paris and New York. Having witnessed the familial and social ravages of hatred and war, she has devoted her life to the study and practice of nonviolence. Lili was hired by Coretta Scott King as the King Center’s director of nonviolence education and training, and served for 2 decades on the US and international boards of the Fellowship of Reconciliation, the world’s oldest interfaith peace organization. She directed the Weinberg Center for Holocaust Education at Atlanta's Breman Museum and, upon her retirement, was invited to return to The King Center as NV365 Senior Educator. Lili has lectured and led workshops around the world, including Japan, Russia, Germany, Israel, Uzbekistan, Costa Rica, and the Netherlands. She holds a PhD from Emory University in Women’s Studies and Human Development.
