In this workshop, join writer and journalist Azad Essa, author of Hostile Homelands: The New Alliance Between India and Israel, and Samee Ahmad of South Asian Left (SALAM) for a conversation on the India-Israel arms industry, its role in the occupation of Kashmir as well as the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Participants will read an excerpt from Hostile Homelands that will serve as a starting point for discussion, and will have the opportunity to ask questions to the author.

Azad Essa is a South African journalist based in the NY metropolitan area. He is the author of Hostile Homelands: The New Alliance Between India and Israel (Pluto Press, 2023). Azad previously worked at Al Jazeera English, covering central and southern Africa for the network.

Samee Ahmad is a writer and organizer with South Asian Left (SALAM), a NYC-based political organization building a pan-South Asian socialist politics that engages with ongoing struggles in the region.
