“Where Olive Trees Weep” Film Screening and Conversation
Rev. Rebecca Froom and the Social Justice Action Committee invite you to a screening of the documentary “Where Olive Trees Weep,” which was filmed in the Occupied West Bank in 2022. The film gives background to the current crisis in Israel/Palestine and brings to light human stories of intergenerational pain, trauma, and resilience. The film screening will be followed by a conversation facilitated by Rev. Rebecca.
In June 2024 the Unitarian Universalist General Assembly passed an Action of Immediate Witness on “Solidarity with Palestinians,” which encourages congregations to “hold teach-ins about Palestine and Israel that include sacred spaces for spiritual processing.” This film screening is one opportunity for our congregation to learn and grow together as we consider how to strive for justice, compassion, and peace in Palestine and Israel.
