SC Member Biton (ward 7) spoke out AGAINST pro-Palestinian SHS student protesters their chant “from the river to the sea Palestine will be free” anti-semitic hate speech. He went on to compare anti-genocide SHS protestors to white nationalists and suggested they should be disciplined and the school’s attendance policy should be changed, effectively suppressing student protest. This racist violent ideology and climate of intimidation and suppression of pro-palestinian voices, during an ongoing genocide, is unacceptable. Every other school committee member has remained silent day after day for 8 months as Palestinians are massacred and starved by Israel and the US. Its time for every school committee member to speak out, call for a Ceasefire, stand with students against genocide of Palestinians and protect their right to protest and speak!
