ABOUT THE EVENT: The Institute for Palestine Studies is holding a symposium on the impact of the Israeli occupation’s aggression on the agricultural sector in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and the ongoing and systematic Israeli attempt to destroy the Palestinian agricultural sector to seize the largest area of land, and to perpetuate Palestinian dependence on the Israeli economy. Statistical data indicated that the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip damaged and destroyed about a fifth of the agricultural lands in the Strip, while farmers in the West Bank are increasingly suffering due to the inability to access their lands in light of the existing settlement plans and restrictions imposed on movement.
