Israel's War on Gaza: Implications for the Region and U.S. Foreign Policy, with Dr. Trita Parsi
As Israel’s war on Gaza surpasses 100 days, more than 24,000 Palestinians have been killed, almost 2 million displaced, and countless others injured. With little hope of a ceasefire, Israel’s continued targeting of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian officials in Lebanon and Syria, Houthi maritime attacks in the Red Sea, and the U.S.-led coalition’s retaliatory strikes against Houthi bases in Yemen mark significant escalations. Given the current scenario, what are the prospects of a full-blown regional conflict in the Middle East? How will Iran and the Gulf states respond to recent developments? What domestic and regional factors will shape U.S. policy in the coming weeks? To hear an in-depth analysis of the emerging situation, please join us for a discussion with renowned Middle East and Iran scholar, Dr. Trita Parsi.
SPEAKER BIO: Trita Parsi is an expert on US-Iranian relations, Iranian foreign policy, and the geopolitics of the Middle East. He has authored three books on US foreign policy in the Middle East, with a particular focus on Iran and Israel. He was named by the Washingtonian Magazine as one of the 25 most influential voices on foreign policy in Washington DC in both 2021 and 2022, and preeminent public intellectual Noam Chomsky calls Parsi “one of the most distinguished scholars on Iran.”
