1/14 The Unrecognized Bedouin Villages with Marwan Abu Frieh of Adalah (Green Olive Collective)

The Unrecognized Bedouin Villages

Bedouin citizens of Israel have endured decades of discriminatory state policies that deny their right to home, land, and safety.

Residents of the Bedouin villages were also among the hostages taken by Hamas on October 7th, have endured months of rocket fire without standard protections, and continue to face a humanitarian catastrophe.

Join us with Marwan Abu Frieh of Adalah to explore the ongoing crisis in the unrecognized Bedouin villages of the Negev. He will speak with us about the ways recent events have impacted employment, infrastructure, and healthcare in the communities, and will situate the current conditions within a broader history of inequality.

Marwan is the Negev Office Coordinator and Field Researcher of Adalah: The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, the leading organization working to defend the civil and human rights of Palestinian citizens of Israel through strategic litigation, public advocacy, and documentation.
