Children across the world, including in the occupied Palestinian territory, are heading back to school. But for Palestinian children, a safe, quality education is often out of reach. Israeli forces routinely detain, harass, injure, and even kill Palestinian children who are on their way to or from school. Schools in Area C, in rural areas like the Jordan Valley, are often located near Israeli military training zones, where Israeli forces fire live ammunition, tear gas, stun grenades, and other weapons interrupting students' education. And in the last few years, Israeli authorities have intensified their efforts to target Palestinian schools for demolition.
