Join Jim to discuss this week's column, What Israel, Hamas, and the US Should Have Known
We are all horrified by the loss of life we are watching unfold before our very eyes. This includes the Israeli civilians killed on October 7, 2023, and the brutal occupation and siege laid upon the Palestinian people that came before it and continues today. Already, thousands of Palestinians have been killed including hundreds of children. The violence is heart-wrenching and a violation of our basic humanity and international law. While we mourn the loss of life and the trauma inflicted upon all civilians, including American citizens, we must now also act with urgency. Today, we are witnessing the inhumane displacement and genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
We also know the toll this crisis is taking on those of us who care about humanity. You may feel alone, especially given the media coverage and the words coming from too many of our leaders. But you are not alone. That's why I am asking you to join us this Wednesday when my Coffee and a Column conversation will bring you Voices of Palestine.
It's critical right now when I know you are doing all you can to call for de-escalation and the prevention of genocide, that we come together.
We will discuss the horrific crisis in Gaza. I will be joined by political strategist, Rania Batrice; Director of Philanthropy for UNRWA, Hani Almadhoun; Executive Director of the Arab Center of Washington DC, Khalil Jahshan; and other Palestinian voices.
