Maya Bickel is a young anti-occupation activist currently based in Jerusalem. Last year she was a New Israel Fund Social Justice Fellow, working at Bimkom and the Center for Jewish Nonviolence. She has a degree in Middle East studies from Columbia University.

Maya will give a brief background on the primary region in which she is an activist: Masafer Yatta (also known as the south Hebron Hills). This will include legal and political history and an overview of local resistance and Israeli and international solidarity. Then she will share some of her experiences as a solidarity activist there. She will conclude with ways people can join the struggle.
