How to Have Hard Conversations: expanding the Jewish movement for lasting ceasefire this Chanukah

During Chanukah, we remember a time of miracles, of light shining through horror — even when it feels impossible. It’s also a time to gather with loved ones.

As we work to end the siege on Gaza and organize for a lasting ceasefire, many of our loved ones don’t see the situation as we do.

This Chanukah, we have the opportunity to bring our Jewish friends and family along with us.

Join our national call this Wednesday, December 6 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT to learn how you can help grow the Jewish movement for a lasting ceasefire.

On the call, we’ll hear from people working hard to connect with fellow community members, learn more about how to have hard conversations, and gear up for a week of action with our friends and family.

Note: This call is primarily for American Jews or anyone who is in deep relationship with American Jews.

Many of our communities feel fractured right now. It’s incredibly painful when people we love hold views that are incompatible with our own. But we can’t retreat from hard conversations with our loved ones.

To build our movement, we need to bring along many of our family and friends. Coming from a place of empathy, we can have real dialogue, bridge the chasms in our community, and grow our movement, too.

If you’re looking for help on how to have these difficult conversations, this call is for you. We’ll be offering support, training, and tips — and we’ll also be introducing our #ChanukahForCeasefire week of action, with local events across the country.

RSVP for our national call on Wednesday, December 6 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT.

This Chanukah, as we light our candles, we’ll be praying for a lasting ceasefire, the return of all hostages, and an end to siege, occupation, and apartheid.

Together we can build a movement that lasts not just one night — not just eight nights — but for a lasting future of peace and justice for all Palestinians and Israelis.

In solidarity, The IfNotNow team
