Gaza - Past, Present and Future
with Dr. Tarek Loubani

Gaza has been at the centre of world attention for the last six weeks as Israel conducts its murderous bombing campaign.

Israel claims its objective is to eliminate Hamas, but Palestinians argue that Israel’s destruction of hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure indicates that the real intention is to make Gaza unlivable and drive them out of Palestine completely, just as it drove their grandparents out of Israel and into Gaza in 1947/48.

Dr. Tarek Loubani is a Palestinian Canadian doctor. He has spent many days in Gaza providing medical attention to patients in several Gaza hospitals, including the largest one, Al Shifa.

In this interview, Otttawa Forum on Israel Palestine (OFIP) Chair Peter Larson will ask Dr. Loubani about what life was like in Gaza before October 7th, what he knows about the situation today, and what he thinks the future holds for the over 2 million Palestinian refugees trapped in Gaza. There will also be ample time for questions from the audience.

Recently Dr. Loubani was in the news for having been arrested for allegedly squirting red ketchup in memory of the Gaza victims on the office door of his MP who refuses to support a ceasefire.

We will discuss with Dr. Loubani what he thinks Canadians can and should do to support the Palestinians in Gaza
