This Advent, while global Christians prepare to commemorate the arrival of the Prince of Peace, our friends in Israel/Palestine are suffering unthinkable violence. More than 2.2 million people in Gaza are crying for deliverance and peace, echoing those of two millennia ago. But their cries seem to be falling unheard in the United States.

On December 23rd, a number of kindred organizations around the world are joining forces in solidarity to simulcast a live worship gathering guided by Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac and his team at Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. Central to this liturgy of lament will be their prophetic message that if Jesus was born today, he would be born “under the rubble.”
