Flying High: The Origins and Realities of Today’s Israel and Palestine

Israel, Palestine, and the current crisis in Gaza. How did we get into this mess and where do we go from here?

Join Dr. Don Wagner, author, retired professor, and long-time activist for Palestinian human rights, along with his wife, Linda Kateeb, Palestinian and retired educator in the Chicago Public Schools, for an engaging discussion and Q&A where we dive into the complex issues surrounding Israel and Palestine. This is an opportunity to learn, discuss, and gain a deeper understanding of the ongoing struggle in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Don and Linda will share their personal experiences traveling to the area for over 40 years, provide history and context that help us understand the current events unfolding in Palestine, and dive deeper into topics such as Zionism, Christian Zionism, and settler colonialism, Palestinian culture, resilience, and resistance, and next steps for how we can support and speak out for a peaceful resolution. Whether you're new to the topic or well-informed, this discussion will provide a platform for a chance to broaden your knowledge and perspective and answer your questions about the current crisis and future of Palestine. You will leave feeling empowered and inspired in your advocacy for peace and justice in Palestine and beyond.
